Annealing is the process of slowly heating the metal to a certain temperature, holding it for a sufficient time, and then cooling it at a suitable speed. To reduce the hardness, improve the machinability; Reduce residual stress, stabilize size, reduce deformation and crack tendency; Refine grain, adjust structure, eliminate structure defects. The process is generally divided into preparatory annealing, intermediate annealing and finished annealing. Depending on the purpose of the annealing process, recrystallization annealing, incomplete annealing and complete annealing are often used. In order to obtain the strip without oxidation or decarburization, the strip is annealed in a protective atmosphere.

Cover annealing is divided into single stack and multi-stack annealing, according to the different coil forms, there are two kinds of tight roll annealing and loose roll annealing (see cover annealing). Although the treatment period is long, most of the cover furnace annealing is used more in cold rolled sheet and strip annealing because of the large number of furnaces, flexible use and less investment. In the late 1970s, intense convection full hydrogen furnace annealing (HICON/H2) appeared. Using pure hydrogen as the protective gas, the large blade centrifugal vortex machine generates strong convection, which increases the heating and cooling speed of the coil by 40% ~ 50%; The annealing cycle is shortened and the energy consumption is low.

A high quality surface close to that achieved by continuous annealing can be obtained. Continuous annealing: vertical continuous annealing and horizontal continuous annealing. Generally, protective gas is passed into the furnace, and the annealing yield is large. Continuous furnace annealing after years of development, the annealing equipment has been continuously improved, and gradually specialized according to the production varieties, in order to reduce the construction cost of the unit and improve the quality of the product. Continuous furnace annealing can not only produce special deep drawing steel with good surface grade, but also produce high strength sheet steel. MET designs and supplies scientific annealing solutions and products for domestic and foreign customers, fully considering material characteristics, applications, and production line adaptation and other factors, to provide each customer with professional, scientific and comprehensive solutions.
